A reward is being offered to anyone who can remove a motorcycle tyre that has been stuck on a crocodile’s neck for several years.

The reward is being offered by the Sulawesi’s Natural Resources Conservationists in one of he provinces in Indonesia for the bravest who can free the tyre from the 13-foot (4-meter) crocodile.

Antara News agency, a media run by the Indonesian government, reported that the crocodile was first spotted with the tyre on its neck in 2016 along the Palu River located in Central Sulawesi province.

Antara further reported that the crocodile was struck by both the earthquake and tsunami in 2018 — but the tire remained intact.

Central Sulawesi’s Natural Resources Conservation Office (BKSDA) launched a public contest to free the animal from being strangled by the tyre.

According to Antara report, Central Sulawesi BKSDA chief Hasmuni Hasmar said, “A reward will be given to anyone who can free the helpless reptile.”

However, Hasmuni gave no hint above about the nature of the reward and what it would be.
